I read your introduction and first chapter...hello Emma Radcliffe and little Zoey. When I first start reading any story I like to take in all I know about the main character..Emma in this case. Apparently she met a military guy and fell in love with him..they moved in together and spent 2 years in a relationship..Emma put all her plans on hold to keep house and provide that homey atmosphere a guy loves to come home to..but once she discovered she was expecting...a girl, the guy grew distant disappointed he was not going to have a son..he spent too much time away from home indulging in his friends, drinking and gambling..hmmm, he does sound like a loser..but he left Emma..This leads me to believe there may be some darkness in Emma's past for her to have made some of the decisions she has thus far..so here she needs some life experience and perhaps some good outward influences to change..she does admit she deserved better, but she seems held back to risk a repeat performance..she isn't a very social person..her love of reading and desire to write is important to her..so staying a home with little Zoey is the perfect fit for her...I think she likes this parenting aspect..but she is living in Starlight Shores..that is a very social town..somehow this fits though, because she wants her name out there..I wonder how this will happen? I think this is what would bring me to want chapter2..I would have to wonder what changes are about to take place in her life and will her character grow as these things happen...this could be interesting and fun to follow.
